Back-to-School Printables

by Kay on August 22, 2014

Back-to-School shopping is a stressful event for parents, teachers, and students alike. I’ve always thought that if you can stock up at home without having to drive around, you should. With that in mind, I’ve assembled a huge number of education printables that can be printed immediately from a home computer. Whether you need them for a class, the whole school, or homeschool, they’re all effective homework, study, and lesson templates.

My main hub for teachers of any grade is TeachersPrintables.net, where I have classroom printables for the whole school, and home, too. There are library, testing, and classroom signs for various grades, as well as hallway passes, parent communication forms, and school calendars. For individual teachers, there are seating charts, lesson plans, grading rubrics, and homework templates that make planning a day (or the academic year!) a little easier. Files are free to download and print as either a PDF or, in most cases, a customizable DOC. However, if you want access to all 530-plus templates in one place, I recommend getting the teacher collection (licensed for use by a single classroom) for $27, or the whole-school license for $67.
Certificates are a great way to instruct, motivate, and reward students. That’s why I’ve got plenty of education certificates at FreePrintableCertificates.net. These diplomas and awards recognize students for participation, attendance, reading, graduating, counting, spelling, behavior, musical achievement, performance, language, and more. Each one is colorfully illustrated and styled to be cute, fun, elegant, or professional. Certificates are free to print as a PDF. A customizable DOC version can be purchased for $5 and typed into using a word processor.
There are 1,352 printable printable paper templates at PrintablePaper.net, and all of them are useful for the school year. There are typical templates that provide lined notebook paper and standard graph paper designs, but there are also really interesting creative ones too for special art projects, mapping, and design. These include 3D paper, comic book story panels, music staff paper, polar graph paper, and logarithmic paper.

If you’re a teacher, you could probably use some occasional forms and ideas for activities and lessons. Fortunately, I’ve got two helpful sites on that front: InstantWorksheets.net and FreeWritingPrompts.net.
InstantWorksheets.net provides hundreds of printable worksheets that can be used as homework or classroom activities. The various forms range from preschool to high school and teach concepts and information concerning the alphabet, biology, history, social studies, and grammar. While all of the worksheets are free to download and print, a monthly membership is only $4 and provides unlimited access to the custom math problem generator.
FreeWritingPrompts.net has hundreds of writing prompts for narrative, persuasive, and instructional essays. There are also many ideas for creative fiction stories and character development. Essay prompts are divided up by categories, holidays, and grade levels. You can lift the text from each prompt, or download and edit it as a DOC.

Finally, I have homework, test, and study printables to help students learn from home. PrintablePlanners.net is the best organizational resource, with more than 380 printable planners. Some of those planners are crafted especially for students and can help track grades, schedule courses and application materials, organize homework, and plan for tests. They all come with nice, colorful designs and a three-hole punch marker so that they can easily be put into binders. PDF files are free to download, while an editable DOC version is available for $4.

The other great resource for studying is PrintableFlashCards.net. There are 300 flash cards that users have created on every subject from biology to ancient history to language translations. You can make your own, too, on any subject you like, by using my free flash card maker.
Whatever you do, make sure you’re prepared for the upcoming year and that you cram in the rest of your summer fun while you can!
