Example Hardship Letters

by Kay on November 7, 2016

In a tough spot? My website LetterOfHardship.net has dozens of hardship letter templates for a variety of financial, academic, and personal situations.

It’s hard to find the right words when you’re stressed out and up against a wall.

I’ve added 20 new sample letters to LetterOfHardship.net, with wording to get you started on a letter that fits your case. The templates download free and can be customized by typing into them in Microsoft Word or any DOC-compatible program.

The new letters address medical issues such as trouble affording medication, braces, or wisdom tooth extraction. There’s example wording to describe financial setbacks or suggest alternative payment arrangements.

The new academic hardship letters tackle AP and SAT exam fees, private school tuition, workshops and education-related crowdfunding campaigns. There are also letters for requesting a second chance at a homework assignment or test, or for changing schools.

Court hardship letters now include a letter template regarding the need to drive despite a suspended license. There’s also a template to appeal a fine.

There’s a letter to a landlord about a pending eviction. Other templates cover insurance and billing issues.

LetterOfHardship.net has several articles with tips on letter-writing. Each hardship letter template can be downloaded as a DOC file, or simply cut and paste the wording directly from the site.
