Have you tried out the banner maker at PrintableBanners.net?

I launched the feature last year. For $5.99, people have been using the tool to create banners with their own text, font, color and style. Now, due largely to the fact that (full disclosure here) the banner generator’s payment center “broke” while moving to a new server, I’ve decided to make the Banner Maker completely free!

Sure, there are more than 60 cool pre-made free printable banners at PrintableBanners.net (from party signs to office window displays). But sometimes you don’t want to just say, “Welcome Home”; you want to say, “Welcome Home, Melissa!” (Unless you don’t know anyone named Melissa. Then it would just be weird.)

To try out the Banner Maker, just go to www.PrintableBanners.net/custom.php. If you choose to use the Banner Maker, or one of the free, pre-made banners, all you need is your printer: The words print out with giant letters on standard printer paper. Have fun, whether you’re making a banner for a Grand Opening or customizing one for a Fabulous Reptile Sale.

I’m a big fan of pranks, but only if they’re clever, well-played and no one gets hurt. When it comes to April Fool’s Day, one of the down sides of being self-employed is I don’t have any officemates to play tricks on. Then again, I don’t need any trouble from an overzealous HR department who doesn’t see the humor of a Parking Violation sign on a company car.

I have teenage daughter, and, as you might expect, I am kind of a “goofy dad.” I wonder how she’d take to me posting a Biohazard sign from PrintableSigns.net on her door?

I thought of a good prank that even my preschooler could do: stick labels on random things throughout the house: the toilet, a jug of milk in the fridge, and so on. You’ll be finding labels on stuff months from now, much like running over old Easter eggs with the lawnmower.

Does your family have any fun St. Patrick’s Day traditions? Perhaps corned beef and cabbage, or building leprechaun traps? From the looks of the crafts and coloring pages my younger daughter has been bringing home from preschool, they’re going to need some new green crayons soon.

I’ve actually wanted FreePrintable.net to have a blog for quite some time now. I launched the first FreePrintable.net site way back in 2005, but I’ve been on the Internet since 1989. (Great; I just dated myself.) But you know how it goes: busy, busy, busy. Well, I’m ready to stop making excuses and start blogging!

Thanks to all you who have encouraged me to join the, um, ’90s and blog away! The FreePrintable.net blog will include a lot about printables (naturally!), a little about me and my life (because I’m super-cool, right?), and some tips about printing, printables project ideas, special holiday-themed posts, and maybe even some videos, if I get my act together.
