Halloween Printables Roundup

The days leading up to Halloween are almost as fun for my 5-year-old as the holiday itself. She gets to do craft projects in class, work on her Halloween costume, and prepare for the huge haul of candy she brings home every year. (Not that we let her eat it all, but I digress…) I’ve uploaded a bunch of printables for people who like this holiday as much as we do, whether it’s for costume contests, haunted parties or just classroom activities. I recently told you about HalloweenPrintables.net, my site dedicated entirely to printable Halloween activities. But there are even more holiday designs at other FreePrintable.net sites.

FreeprintableRecipeCards.net has a lot of Halloween recipes for organizing festive treats for holiday parties, potlucks, and so on. The cards are available on 3×5 and 4×6 lined cards and feature jack o’lanterns, coffins and goblins. The PDFs are free, and editable versions that can be typed into using Microsoft Word before printing cost $7.

There are a number of Halloween award certificates for pumpkin carving, decoration, and costume contests at FreePrintableCertificates.net. The PDFs are free to download and print, while an editable DOC version (type in winners’ names, etc.) costs $5.

If you want to win that Halloween costume award but you’re running short on ideas or time, PrintableMasks.net has over 100 Halloween masks that can be printed and cut out for free. They have the usual scary masks of werewolves and Frankenstein monsters, but there are also fantasy masks such as unicorns and dragons, animal masks, and people masks.

My younger daughter loves to color, and she can easily go through a whole coloring book in a day, so I’m happy to offer dozens of Halloween coloring pages at FreePrintableColoringPages.net. Featuring everything from pumpkins to witches to monsters to ghosts, these files can all be downloaded as PNG files for free.

For families hosting parties, I have a number of helpful sites. There are plenty of Halloween-themed invitations at PrintInvitations.net, holiday greeting cards at FreePrintableGreetingCards.net and jack o’lantern letterhead templates at FreeLetterheadTemplates.net. Each one features creepy, silly, festive and fun pictures of pumpkins, ghosts and ghouls. All are available for free as PDFs. The premium versions cost a few dollars each.

Printable Recipe Cards

Lots of people enjoy learning new recipes and trying them out for their family, especially as the weather gets colder and there’s less to do outside. With the new batch of 30 printable recipe cards at FreePrintableRecipeCards.net, I’ve introduced some new kitchen illustrations in addition to a selection of cute animal cards.

The new ethnic food recipe cards are great for people who want to add a little cultural variety into their cooking ventures. I think the red noodles look particularly tasty, but there are also depictions of sushi, sausages, and salsa.

The new batch also includes animal recipe cards, which make cooking with kids particularly fun. There are scenes highlighting cows, pigs, birds, and ladybugs out in the green grass.

Overall, there are more than 185 different recipe cards to choose from. There are a lot of holiday recipe cards as well, which are useful with Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas coming up. All of the recipe cards are available for free to download and print as a PDF, while a premium, editable version costs $7 and can be opened in Microsoft Word. The recipe cards are available as 3×5, 4×6 and 8×10 templates. Whatever you choose, I recommend printing them on card stock, or laminating them for maximum durability.

Printable Tooth Fairy Letters

With young children, every new event feels like a milestone, especially lost teeth. My 5-year-old is very excited at the prospect of losing her first baby tooth, and it’s hard not to be excited with her. The 11 new tooth fairy letters I’ve added to ToothFairyLetter.net are nice ways to share in your kid’s enthusiasm, instead of making the exchange just about money. (A tooth as a commodity is an interesting tradition.)

ToothFairyLetter.net has a large number of Tooth Fairy poems, coloring pages, and letters to boys and girls that talk about first teeth and magic castles. There are also gender-specific notes and funny letters for children who are getting older and taking the situation less seriously. There’s even a new Tooth Fairy invoice.

Tooth Fairy Invoice

A section that I think is especially helpful is the extraordinary situation Tooth Fairy letters category, which addresses the issues that some kids have anxiety about. That includes swallowing the tooth, losing it at school, losing multiple teeth and having a tooth pulled at the dentist. Most of the letters also encourage kids to keep up good dental hygiene.

All of the letters come with full-color illustrations of teeth, smiling faces or the Tooth Fairy with a magic wand. They also include a very authentic-looking Tooth Fairy signature for verification purposes. The templates are free to download and print as PDFs, or $5 for a DOC file that can be customized in Microsoft Word or its equivalent. With the premium DOC versions, you can type in a child’s name and other personal details before printing.

Free Printable Letterhead

Memos and letters always look more official when they’re written on great letterhead. The new letterhead templates I’ve added to FreeLetterHeadTemplates.net aren’t just official, though, but also fun, classy, and sometimes a little silly.

For example, you can make thank you notes writing more enjoyable by letting kids write on animal letterhead or on stationery featuring cartoon numbers.

Kid Letterhead Template

Each of the new monogram templates is decorated with a letter from the alphabet as a watermark background. They’re simple and elegant and great for weddings or daily business.

Finally, the sports letterhead brings the site’s total up to 125 free templates. Sports fans can show their support of up basketball, football, soccer, and other activities with this full-color, illustrated stationery.

All of the letterhead is available in DOC format and is free to download, customize in Microsoft Word or another compatible program, and print.

Free Printable Family Trees

In my family, my wife is in charge of the keeping of the genealogy. She really enjoys the research, and has traced our families’ paths backward quite a ways. There are lots of family history fans out there, especially judging from the popularity of my recent additions to FamilyTreeTemplates.net.
Descendant Chart
There are 15 new printable family trees, along with genealogy charts and forms. Site users had requested a tree with room for more siblings, so I’ve added another of those. Plus, there’s a new 6-generation fan-style family tree, a cousin chart, a pedigree chart, a descendant chart, and new full-color illustrated family trees for children (My favorite is the dinosaur family tree).

The genealogy forms include: a correspondence log (to record research-related communication), a library research checklist, a tracker for online research, a family unit history page, and more.

All of the family trees and charts are free to download and print in PDF form, or pay just $4 for a DOC version you can edit in Microsoft Word, typing in names, dates, and so on. (The fan charts are available in only free PDF form.)

FreePrintable.net Fan Wins Quilting Award

A few months ago, Sharon Bourque wrote to ask if she could use the juggler boy coloring page from FreePrintableColoringPages.net as a template for a quilting design. I said of course.

I was delighted that Sharon took the time to write in and share the great news that her quilt, titled “Time Flies,” had won an award in the Quilts on the Rocks 2012 show held last month in Sudbury, Ontario, in Canada.

Congratulations, Sharon! Beautiful work. My wife is a quilter and was similarly impressed.

I love it when people find different uses for printables. Besides quilting templates, the coloring pages could be used as paper-piecing patterns by scrapbookers and paper crafters. Oh, and quilters, be sure to check out the specialty quilting paper at PrintablePaper.net.
